Physical Description

The Broadway Program in East Somerville is a recently renovated three story Victorian-style house. After the renovation the house has retained many examples of fine craftsmanship, displayed in the beautiful woodwork and stained-glass features found throughout the house. The first floor of the house is fully wheelchair accessible. The staff office is located on the first floor. There are two bedrooms with one shared bath on the first floor, and six bedrooms with two shared bathrooms on the second floor. The residence has a beautiful, large, open-architecture sitting room with a stereo and television. The modern kitchen is equipped with two ovens and individual cabinets for residents to store food. Residents can also enjoy the spacious back deck in good weather and use the outside grill for summer barbeques.

Neighborhood

The Broadway Program is located in East Somerville, within walking distance of Sullivan Square and the T (the Orange Line). A number of different bus lines also run past the house on Broadway. There is a Star Market/Shaw's within close proximity on Broadway, in addition to a variety of ethnic eateries, small markets, and pharmacies. The location of the Broadway Program makes it easily accessible to Somerville Mental Health Center, Cambridge City Hospital, and Somerville Primary Care Services.

Staffing and Services

At the Broadway Program, staff are available 24 hours per day to support, assist and empower residents as they work to reach their fullest potential. The Broadway Street Program is designed to provide a safe, clean, substance free, and encouraging environment in which residents feel comfortable while working to achieve personal, educational and vocational goals.
