Physical Description

Cambridge House is a 100-year-old classic Victorian home located in the heart of Cambridge.  The three story building has 17 rooms and 2.5 shared bathrooms.  There are 10 single bedrooms for residents and 3 large common areas for recreational activities.  There is a large spacious kitchen, which has been newly renovated, where staff and residents cook meals and an open dining room where everyone can eat together.  The house is partially air conditioned and has laundry facilities in the basement.  There are 3 large, shaded porches, which are the designated smoking areas.

Neighborhood

Cambridge house is in a residential area in the heart of Cambridge. Located with in walking distance to Inman Square, Central Square and Harvard Square, there are a vast number of resources available to our residents.  There are community parks, libraries, convenience stores, coffee shops and various restaurants of diverse ethnic traditions.  Cambridge Hospital and Inman pharmacy are located near by, who provide a number of services to our residents.  Yet the house is located on a quiet street away from all the noise and traffic of the city.

Staff and Services Available

The program offers 24 hour supports to 10 residents. Services are provided to help clients develop more independence.  Cambridge House program encourages an atmosphere of cooperation, safety, sobriety, support and freedom to allow residents to become more self-assertive in achieving personal, educational and vocational goals.
