The third floor has 4 bedrooms and a full bath. The house has a large shared common area which includes a dining and living room area, with a distinctive fireplace. There is a fully equipped, modern kitchen. The basement also has a recreational area, a laundry room, storage and a staff office. Magazine house has a spacious back porch and pleasant front porch, with park benches, both of which look out over gardens. The front and back porch serve as the designated smoking areas.

Magazine house is in a residential area located near a community park, convenience stores, eateries, and a health clinic associated with Cambridge Hospital. The house has easy access to the Charles River area, including Magazine Beach. Magazine house is within a ten minute walk form Central Square, where there is a post office, Cambridge City Hall and the YMCA, as well as many other services. Central Square is located on the T (Red Line) and many bus lines.

The program offers 24 hour supports to 10 residents.  Services are provided to help residents develop more independence in an atmosphere of cooperation, safety, sobriety, support and freedom.
